As CEO of New Mountain Learning, Eric oversees the company’s strategic direction, resource investment, talent management, and key partnerships. In addition to providing executive leadership for NML’s secondary, post-secondary, and career services businesses, Eric’s primary focus has been to build a sustainable platform for growth and value creation, and complete NML’s transformation from a print publisher to a fully digital learning solutions company.
Eric has held several executive and management positions in education, professional development and training, and information and media services. Prior to joining New Mountain Learning in 2012, Eric spent six years at the College Board, a mission-driven not-for-profit organization that connects students to college success and opportunity. In his last position, as Senior VP of College Readiness, he oversaw all of the College Board’s K-12 education programs designed to prepare students for college and career success.
Prior to the College Board, Eric served as President and CEO of Kaplan Professional, a division of Kaplan Inc. and subsidiary of the Washington Post. Prior to Kaplan, Eric held senior level product management, sales, marketing, and business planning positions with the McGraw-Hill Companies, NutriSystem Inc., and PepsiCo Inc.
Throughout his career, Eric has served on the boards of several small to mid-sized organizations in the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors. He is currently a regent of the American Architectural Foundation; an advisory board member at Carnegie Learning, Roadtrip Nation, and Tootelage Inc.; as well as a venture partner at LearnLaunch, a Boston-based accelerator.
Eric received a BA in history from Haverford College and an MBA in marketing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
