JIST to Present Workshop on Virtual Workforce Centers at 2017 SETA Conference
Under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), workforce development professionals face increasing pressure to serve hard-to-employ populations more efficiently and report comprehensive data about how and when their clients are served. Emerging technologies, like virtual workforce centers, offer a new approach to advising, training and tracking clients in the workforce development system.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (February 24, 2017) – JIST Career Solutions, a leading provider of career development tools in workforce development, announced today that Steven Olinger, Manager of Government and Distributor Programs, will speak at the 2017 Spring Southeastern Employment and Training Association Conference on Tuesday, March 21st, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Olinger will present a workshop titled, “Virtual Workforce Centers: Hype or Help?” at 2 p.m. for workforce development professionals serving hard-to-employ populations. During the workshop, Olinger will discuss how virtual workforce centers empower state agencies and workforce organizations to:
- Access career development tools anytime, anywhere.
- Obtain essential client data for use in reporting, analytics and compliance.
Olinger’s presentation will discuss how the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) encourages virtual workforce centers to enhance clients’ skill-building experiences and improve administrator efficiencies. Attendees participating in the workshop will learn about online platforms they can use to serve hard-to-employ populations more effectively, including examples from JIST Gateway, CareerOneStop and ERISS.
